Where Is Zariels Asset BG3 Location And Quest Walkthrough
During Act 2 of Baldur's Gate 3, players receiving quest updates from Mizora are tasked with finding a mysterious figure known only as Zariel's asset. While the quest description implies this target is located somewhere within Moonrise Towers, reaching the actual location requires progressing through major story events. Understanding where to go and when this encounter triggers prevents unnecessary backtracking through the shadow-cursed lands.
Locating Zariel's Asset in the Mind Flayer Colony
Although your journal mentions Moonrise Towers, you cannot interact with Zariel's asset during your initial exploration of the fortress. The asset is hidden deep within the Mind Flayer Colony located beneath the towers. You can only enter this area after defeating Ketheric Thorm in his first battle atop the tower roof and jumping into the hollow opening.
Once you arrive in the Mind Flayer Colony, make your way toward the Tadpoling Center. In the room adjacent to the pods containing captured victims, you will discover a solitary pod submerged near a brine pool. Approaching this pod reveals that Zariel's asset is none other than Mizora herself, who has been captured by the Absolute cult.
How to Free Mizora and Complete the Quest
Interacting with the pod triggers a dialogue sequence where you must decide how to handle Mizora's captivity. Bringing Wyll in your active party is essential if you wish to negotiate terms regarding his infernal pact. You can choose to operate the controls on the pod to release her safely or attempt to destroy the pod.
Selecting the option to release Mizora allows her to escape back to the Hells unharmed. If you choose to kill or purge the pod, Mizora dies and instantly drags Wyll down to the Hells as punishment for breaking contract rules. Releasing her grants you the opportunity to press her for Wyll's freedom and claim valuable quest rewards.
Quest Rewards and Impact on Wyll's Story
Successfully freeing Mizora fulfills the terms set during your camp interaction earlier in the campaign. If Wyll is present in your party and passes dialogue checks, Mizora will reward you with the Infernal Rapier, one of the best finesse weapons in the game. She also agrees to dissolve Wyll's contract after a mandatory six-month period.
Completing this objective ensures Wyll remains in your adventuring party for Act 3 and opens up future questlines regarding his father, Grand Duke Ravengard. Navigating this encounter carefully ensures optimal story development while securing high-tier magical equipment for your party.
